Sepsis: Diagnosis and Treatment














What is sepsis? Sepsis can be interpreted as the body's activation of its various defense mechanisms to an acquired infection. The typical presentation of a patient with septicemia includes having a low blood pressure, increased heart rate, and fast breathing. The patient may also seem confused or disorientated.
