International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Drugs addiction is not only harmful to the addicted but also has an adverse impact on the fabric of the community.  In 1987, the General Assembly of the United Nations voted to commemorate June 26 as the "International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking."

Today, more than ever your child's peers play an influential role in their social and emotional development. Listening to your child is the first step in helping them to grow healthy and safely. Thus, this year's UN theme is titled "Listen First."

Listen Firstis an initiative to increase support for the prevention of unprescribed drug use that is based on science and is thus an effective investment in the well-being of children, youth, their families, and the community."
