Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome(ARDS)
ARDS is an inflammatory complex initiated by entities such as sepsis, severe infection, multiple blood transfusions, trauma, or pneumonia. The hallmark characteristics of ARDS lies in its acute onset and difficulty in gas exchange within the lungs of the affected person. The mortality of ARDS is high, in some cases, greater than 20% of patients succumb to the syndrome. On Wednesday, October 12, 2016, from 8-9am PST Dr. J.K. Gude will present a case discussion on ARDS.
