Sierra Leone's Horror

What is transpiring in Sierra Leone is something that could be scripted in a Hollywood horror movie. However, this documentary is non-fiction.  Today CBS news reports that Sierra Leone's leading Ebola physician, Dr. Victor Willoughby, has died. This announcement is just surreal. It appears that every Ebola "Czar", in Sierra Leone, has contracted the Ebola virus disease (EVD) and has perished.  Dr. Willoughby was treating a VIP for organ failure.   It is being reported that the VIP's Ebola status was unknown at the time Dr. Willoughby was managing the patient. The VIP was later diagnosed with EVD and expired. The doctor was subsequently tested and diagnosed with Ebola sometime last week.  As he laid on his death bed today the experimental medication; ZMAPP was en route from the airport to his medical facility according to the Chief Medical Officer Dr. Brima Kargbo.
The World Health Organization (WHO) released the abysmal Ebola statistics for Sierra Leone. In a country of approximately 6,000,000 inhabitants, there were 135 physicians.(1 doctor for every 44,444 citizens.) Of the Sierra Leone physicians, 12 were infected with Ebola with only one physician surviving.( 92% mortality rate) WHO further reports that 142 healthcare workers were infected with Ebola, with only 33 surviving.
(77% mortality rate
As previously reported, Operation West Area Surge is currently underway in Sierra Leone. The ultimate goals reported by some healthcare workers are to identify infected patients and to contain the Ebola epidemic.
