According to an 2012 article published in the New York Times: "The goal of this program is to increase the quality and affordability of health insurance, lower the uninsured rate by expanding public and private insurance coverage, and reduce the costs of healthcare for individuals and the government."
The Open Enrollment Period is November 1, 2015 – January 31, 2016. Many volunteers across the country will be applying for medical insurance for their first time.
